Japanese natural whetstone, Red Ohira (Ohira Nakato). Super high quality finisher. These whetstones are becoming rare and large sized high quality stones are rare and far between.

This stone measures 205mm x 70mm x 40mm, weight being 1401 gram. It was hand picked from a very old stock of a reputable whetstone dealer in Kyoto Japan.

This whetstone bears the hallmarks of a hand chisled bottom (attesting to its age) and genuine ink stamps of the mine it was quaried from. This whetstone comes with a certificate of authenticity.
