It is forged from cable, a process where high-carbon steel cable is twisted, forge-welded into a solid billet, and then fashioned into a blade. It is etched to reveal the intricate, swirling, rope-like pattern inherent in the original material. This provides not only exceptional toughness but also a unique, dark, and textured aesthetic.
Finish:
The blade exhibits a dark, aged, or "charred" finish resulting from the etching process, which highlights the complex internal cable structure. Our maker's mark is visibly stamped near the ricasso.
Handle:
The handle is crafted from a warm-toned, figured hardwood koa, which showcases a beautiful three-dimensional grain. It is ergonomically shaped with a contoured profile and a subtle palm swell, designed for a secure and comfortable grip during prolonged use.
Accents:
A striking feature of the handle is the decorative bolster area. It transitions from the blade using a combination of aluminium spacers and a band of vibrant blue turquoise composite, adding a Western flair to this rustic knife. The handle is secured with a visible pin.
